Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar & Pepper
Strawberries, black pepper and balsamic vinegar may seem odd companions, but their flavors work magically together to create a delicious and elegant dessert. Begin by adding the smaller amount of vinegar, taste, and then add more if desired.
  • 3 cups sliced strawberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 to 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pint frozen vanilla nonfat yogurt

1. In a medium bowl, combine strawberries, sugar and vanilla, and toss to combine. Cover and let stand 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

2. Just before serving, stir in vinegar and pepper. Scoop frozen yogurt into individual serving bowls and top with strawberries and their juices.
