Cryptoxanthin Smoothie
This could be a true test of friendship: See how many people if offered would actually drink something called a Cryptoxanthin Smoothie. Of course if they do, they will be well rewarded, since beta-cryptoxanthin is a carotenoid with cancer-fighting properties. Choose a mango that is as ripe as possible and do not cut too close to the pit or the smoothie will be hairy.
  • 1 mango, peeled and cubed
  • 1-1/2 cups low-fat plain yogurt
  • 1/4 cup frozen tangerine juice concentrate, thawed
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place all ingredients in food processor or blender and process until smooth.
