Banana, Chocolate & Almond Smoothie
Bananas, chocolate, and almonds were born to be together. This delicious smoothie makes a good meal-on-the-go, or even a delicious dessert.
  • 1 cup unflavored low-fat soymilk, rice milk (or almond milk)
  • 1 medium banana (6 ounces)
  • 4 teaspoons chocolate syrup
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons creamy almond butter ( may substitute peanut, or other nut butters for variety)
  • 3 ice cubes

In a blender, combine the soy or rice milk, banana, chocolate syrup, almond butter, vanilla, and ice cubes. Blend for 1 minute, or until thick and smooth.

Per serving: 265 calories, 7.4g total fat (1.5g saturated), 3mg cholesterol, 3g dietary fiber (1g soluble), 47g carbohydrate, 8g protein, 147mg sodium.
Good source of: potassium, riboflavin, vitamin B6.
