Exercise for Diabetes
Regular exercise is an effective way to help control blood sugar levels in those with diabetes. Even just a few modest walks a week can reduce the insulin needs of those with the disease; and a brisk, hour-long daily walk may even prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes in the first place (Journal of the American Medical Association, Nov. 20, 1999). Exercise also helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and also control weight.
