Chinese Herbs for Irritable Bowel (Australia)
A medley of Chinese herbs (including dang shen, huo xiang, fang feng, and chai hu) reduced digestive distress and other symptoms of <<>> better than an inactive placebo mix, according to a study conducted at several Australian medical clinics. The best responses were seen in those who received an herbal formulation tailored to their individual needs by a Chinese herbalist: Improvement was maintained even 14 weeks after the herbal treatments stopped. Those who received a standard packet of 20 Chinese herbs also did better than the placebo group, although improvement didn't last as long. (Journal of the American Medical Association, 11/11/98)
