Alzheimer's and Stress (Japan)

In a recent article published in Nature Cell Biology, researchers at Osaka University in Japan report that they may have found a correlation between stress and the death of brain cells in Alzheimer's disease.

A gene defect in patients with inherited Alzheimer's may inhibit the brain's natural ability to repair stress-related damage, resulting in cell death. Scientists are hopeful that these findings may lead to new treatments for those with Alzheimer's disease.
