Vitamin C and Hypertension
More good news on vitamin C. It now appears the vitamin may help control high blood pressure, say researchers from Boston University and the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. After a month of taking 500 mg of vitamin C a day, patients with hypertension reduced their mean blood pressures an average of 9%. That's an improvement of 5.3% than the average for those given a placebo. (Lancet, 12/11/99)
