Workplace Woes (Finland, U.S.)
Scientists who studied 2,678 workers in 41 office buildings in Helsinki found significant links between: (1) handling self-copying paper and persistent respiratory infections; (2) photocopying and nasal irritation; and (3) computer work and eyestrain. If these problems sound familiar, discuss them with your doctor and employer. Rotating office duties, taking regular breaks and avoiding glare around computer screens may all help.
