Garcinia Cambogia for Weight Loss? (U.S.)

Twelve weeks of therapy with the popular weight-loss aid called HCA, derived from the Indian herb Garcinia cambogia, failed to produce extra weight loss beyond that achieved with a high-fiber, low-calorie diet, according to researchers at St. Luke's–Roosevelt Hospital in New York. The study, however, looked only at HCA alone. It is commonly taken in combination with other supplements, such as psyllium and chitosan, to promote weight loss.
