Vitamin Protection for Urban Athletes (the Netherlands)
Like to work out? The antioxidant vitamins C and E may be a good bet, especially in areas with poor air quality. Lung function was stronger in athletes who took 500 mg vitamin C and 150 IU vitamin E daily than in those who received a placebo. (American Journal of Epidemiology, 2/15/99)
